Thank You!

Creative Language Center opened its doors in 1996 in Vevey, Switzerland with great hopes and a minimum budget. In 2008 we opened our second school in Lausanne. 2010 will mark another important year as I will be moving back to the States. The future shall surely be full of changes, challenges and growth.

There have been and are many people who continue to give time, energy and care to help our schools grow. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge them:

I am grateful to Mr. Callan for creating the best darned English Class in the Universe! One that finally keeps its promises! And for having the courage and discipline to put it all down on paper so that so many can profit.

Without students there would be no need for a school! I am always thankful for the excellent mix of people that learn with us. They are interesting, motivated and willing to try something new.

To the companies of the present and past who have benefited by offering their employees an opportunity to SPEAK instead of « study » English. Nestle, Porsche in Crissier, Eurofin Services, International Olympic Committee, and a special thank you to Sonia Molnar, E.T. and Matisa for their continued support.

Our new directors/managers/teachers/. Nina Dominguez who when Lausanne was opened stepped up to manage Vevey and who will now be Director of Vevey. Nina’s energy, enthusiasm and passion to teach is greatly appreciated, especially by the lucky students who get to meet her! Nina will continue to rely on Elaine “angel” Thomas, to keep an eye on the schedule, meet and greet new students while continuing to be an excellent teacher. George Welser is stepping up to Direct CLC Lausanne and is with great confidence that he will continue to grow the school, while maintaining his friendly, fun and cool nature! He will certainly be busy this year!

All our Teachers! I am always surrounded by talented, energetic and fun people which makes my job tons easier! Thank you to our past and current English and French team.

I am also thankful to Monika Wood, Director of Finances, Billing department, Bookkeeper, and dear friend. Her competence is greatly appreciated!

Big thanks to Jit, Tseggi and Mungo for keeping our schools clean!

Behind the scenes there continues to be GREAT supporters whom without the school would never be.
“Mr. Lavazza”, Vladimir D’Angelo, who on a handshake agreed to rent our excellent location. And has been a behind the scenes supporter from the beginning.

My AMAZING family. My best friend and Mom, Eliane Otth, for all her help and support from the first day. You name it she has done it, including painting the walls, stuffing envelopes, decorating for holidays and bringing me food! Her support is always appreciated even though I know I forget to express it.
My awesome children Nisha and Shantam. Whom I am very proud of! It was so that I could have time for them that I began the schools, although granted, sometimes it didn’t work out exactly as planned and they always supported me and found ways to help when I was extra busy. As they grow and their time needs from me change, there is still one constant and that is we all really enjoy, respect, encourage and love each other. These feelings are what powers me and is what I want to use for growing all our schools!
My Dad, Harvey Schwartz, who has bailed out the school financially more than once and without comments! He is a great role model for me in many ways. And also, my brother Brian Schwartz his wife Jill Anderson and Griffin! I am blessed.

Nobu Akiyoshi noboru@akiyoshi.com an AMAZING graphic designer. If you like this site, specially “ze new bird” it is THANKS to him. This man has talent in many areas including architecture, drawing and graphic design! On top of it he is sooo easy to work with.

An amazing student and computer programmer: E.C., whose generosity and kindness have been priceless!

Milan (ex-teacher, now at Winterthur milan.zivkovic@axa-winterthur.ch) and his beautiful wife Jovana who is in charge of decorating our large train station window.

We’re not done yet! Lise Bavaud, translator extraordinaire, Dominque Pévenasse for our past websites, Danielle Gossett, wonderful friend, world’s bests cheerleader! and I can’t say how many times she has helped check and corrected French for us, Luis Roman, who helped get Lausanne off the ground. Peter Lorenz, eternally grateful for leading me to the Callan Method and finally “filling” the school! and Peter Rohrer, who leant a great helping hand when it was really needed.
And finally last but not least, Jacquie Lutz, who was a manager and teacher in Vevey for 6 years. Vevey will not be the same!

A BIG THANK YOU (I know I have said this but I want to say it again and again and again…) and lets keep improving, growing and all become rich in more ways than one!
